Adding Images that Appear in the Panel

<aside> ⛔ On Quest 3, there seems to be a problem with Reference Images. The “Images” folder may be inaccessible via USB! It may be possible to get around this issue and add images if you create the “Images” folder yourself via USB, after installing SculptrVR and BEFORE SculptrVR automatically creates the folder. (SculptrVR may automatically create the “Images” folder when you visit the Reference Images tab for the first time)

There may be some default reference images, but if you want to add your own images, you need to add them to the right folder on your device if you want them to show up. If you haven’t added any images, there may still be some default images that show up. On the Quest, the path to the Images folder should look like “Android\data\com.sculptrvrinc.sculptrvrapp\files\Images” To get the images into the right folder on your Quest, use a USB cable to plug the Quest into a USB drive on your computer. You might need the right drivers installed and you might need to accept a message on the Quest allowing it to be accessed over USB by the computer.

For more information about accessing the Quest device via USB, search for other information from Oculus documentation on the web.

Once you have access to the Quest via your computer, copy the reference images you want into the right directory.

Select Image to Use

Once images are stored in the proper folder on the device, you can click on an image thumbnail in the Reference Image Panel. That should make the image pop-up as a Reference Image in front of you.

On the Quest, you can only have one Reference Image open at once.

Move, Lock, or Remove

There’s 3 buttons at the top of the image.

Move

Simply click and drag the move button to drag the Reference Image around, and place it where you please.

Lock

This will lock the Reference Image to the base layer of your scene (Layer 1). This way, when you move the scene’s base layer, the Reference Image will move along with it.
